Leticia Bernadac was born in Durango, Mexico (1967). "My pencils and crayons were my best toys while growing up". Her admiration for the large paintings and vast murals she saw in her town's government buildings made a great influence on her to pursue an artistic career later in life. Bernadac has a profound desire to express the "big emotions- tradition, joy, fear". She explores multiple painting techniques and employs a juxtaposition approach in order to create a desirable sense of her work. Capturing the soul through well-formed confident brushstrokes is the artist's devotion. She is producing multiple series of paintings devoted to subjects such as bullfighting, portraiture, abstracts, nature, and the animal kingdom through mediums such as oils, handmade prints, and sculptures. Leticia's contemporary work explores an array of cheerful color palettes and lots of dynamic strokes for a more cohesive look. Through a mix of rich materials such as gold and silver leaf, cold wax, and handmade paper, her artworks exhibit color combinations inspired by her love of nature.
