Sunflowers at Fort Fisher Print

There is a ferry dock at Fort Fisher where there are many live oaks and wildflowers. While waiting for the ferry one morning, I took some photos and created this painting taking various elements from different photos. Although other flowers are there now, the sunflowers are no longer there; the gate attendant told me they had drowned during the flooding cause by a hurricane. They have not had any luck getting them to grow back because the birds keep eating the seeds. I'm very happy to have captured these. This is a one of a kind artwork.
