Flowers, Landscapes, Water and Light I am from the heart of Wiltshire in England. I have always loved this part of the world. There are endless places to walk in south Wiltshire in the old timeless country side and down through Dorset to the sea. I feel a strong connection to nature and this is my focus for all my work. Every year we continue to visit Canada to see family at the great lakes. It was here in the Peaceful cottage country of Georgian Bay 15 years ago that I discovered my love of painting. I started with oils and continue with oil today (occasionally using acrylics). Oil has its own special properties that lend itself to painting nature. I had always loved photography with a natural sense of composition. Painting is an endless learning process and I have been on this journey for many years and feel it is time to start sharing my work with the world. I have always loved the creative process. I studied Product Design as a way to bring creativity into my working world and for the last 20 years I have worked as an Interior Designer for large companies in the UK. My Painting has evolved over time in the background of my career and my paintings are not turned out week in week out and my collections are more over years rather than months. My focus is Landscapes, Flowers and water. These subjects for me offer a way to immerse and escape into a relaxing world away from stress and strains of modern living. Painting natural organic subject matter in contrast to the geometric shapes that surround our modern lives. I paint nature with minimal human influences. Colour and Light are important aspects of my work. My paintings are there to soften the spaces we occupy and provide a biophilic connection for the viewer and a deeper connection with nature colour and light.
