ABOUT THE ARTWORK

Adam: Say, Johnny, what if what that Zatch guy said was true? I mean, about Your Destiny to become a Warrior, and Mine to be a Seeker... [Iggy interupts from behind the couch holding a Playboy Magazine] Iggy: ...and don't forget, I'm the King, seriously, you guys couldn't of missed these Magazines, there is a whole stack of em underneath Your Bed... Johnny: Iggy, you can't be the King of Patusan. [Iggy looks at Him Discouragingly] Johnny: You're not Asian. Iggy: Hey, two words for you; David Carradine, and Kung Fu. Iggy: ...because as we all know, money can't buy knives. Adam: [shouts as he stands up in the moving vehicle] Motosurf! Iggy: Motosurf! Johnny: Motosurf! Adam: You know what they say - Chick's got a veil, dude better bail. Johnny: If she covers her face, pick up the pace. Iggy: She's afraid to show it. She's... probably not very attractive. Johnny: [a remaining bad guy is crawling up stairs of the temple] Newsflash: Your Side Lost! [Bad guy stops crawling up, and falls down the large amount of stairs of the temple] Lt. Spence: Brothers don't surf. Mac: [Heavy Metal Music is playing on the Stereo] Boys, how many times do I have to tell you, no Van Halen [You can say it's "Van Halen" as much as you like, but it’s not gonna make it.. Van Halen.] until AFTER I've had my Coffee. [Turns the Music off] Johnny: But we've already had ours. Johnny: Adam, you're driving! Adam: Ain't it bitchin'? Johnny: How did you get out of those hand cuffs? Lt. Spence: I had a key. Johnny: Where, we searched you? Lt. Spence: I swallowed it last Tuesday. Adam: How'd you know you were gonna need it? Lt. Spence: I swallow it every Tuesday. Ro-May: Johnny, look. All my life I've done what's expected of a traditional Patusani girl. And who do my parents think they are, telling me who I'm going to marry? I'll decide who I'm going to marry, not them! That is if I marry. I mean that was a really swell kiss and all, but I just didn't want to hurt your feelings about the marriage thing. [walks away, then comes back and kisses Johnny] Ro-May: But we can still date right? Ro-May: [to Johnny] I think they're waiting for you to say something. Johnny: [pause, turns to Adam] I've got nothing! Adam: I'll handle it, Bro. [Yells out to the Crowd] Adam: Kwantsu Dudes! [the Crowd Starts Repeating it] Johnny: Wow, they really must like that Word. Adam: Yeah, it Probably means like... Free Beer, or something. Johnny: Kwantsu, Dudes! from ’Surf Ninjas’ (1993) Starring Captain Leslie Nielsen (Creepshow - Whoa, those are different characters I’m used to seeing you and Mr. Danson play.), Jonathan Schmock ("The Sausage King of Chicago?"), Ernie Reyes Sr. (Red Sonja), Rob Schneider ("is... A stapler. And he's about to find out that being a stapler is harder than it looks. Rob Schneider is... The Stapler. Rated PG-13."), John Karlen (Murder, She Wrote), Philip Tan (Loaded Weapon 1), Eddie Reyes Jr. (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: The Secret of the Ooze - Who was in charge of the lighting in this movie? I mean, it’s not a sit-com. Luckily, Vanilla Ice and Super Shredder saved the day.), Tone Loc (Uncle Buck - Kinda), and Kelly Hu (Friday the 13th Part VIII: Jason Takes Manhattan - Jason’s Best). Written by Dan Gordon (Passenger 57). Directed by Neal Israel (Real Genius). Surf Ninjas is a 1993 American family comedy film involving martial arts, directed by Neal Israel and written by Dan Gordon. The film stars Ernie Reyes Jr., Rob Schneider, Nicolas Cowan and Leslie Nielsen. Surf Ninjas follows two teenage surfers from Los Angeles who discover that they are crown princes of the Asian kingdom Patusan and reluctantly follow their destinies to dethrone an evil colonel that rules over the kingdom. Surf Ninjas was filmed in Los Angeles, Hawaii and Thailand. A video game was also developed and released in conjunction with the film. Surf Ninjas was released in the United States on August 20, 1993. The film was released on VHS in December 1993 and re-released on DVD in September 2002. Source: Wikipedia Artist’s Note: This is just one those great movies that I loved as a kid, and after watching it recently, I can say it still holds up. It is, dare I say, the Citizen Kane of 90’s kids surfing movies.. that also has Tone Loc in it. Another Note: I gotta be honest here. I didn't actually watch Surf Ninjas recently. I have it on.. ALL the time. I fucking love this movie.

I’m (I am?) a self-taught artist, originally from the north suburbs of Chicago (also known as John Hughes' America). Born in 1984, I started painting in 2017 and began to take it somewhat seriously in 2019. I currently reside in rural Montana and live a secluded life with my three dogs - Pebbles (a.k.a. Jaws, Brandy, Fang), Bam Bam (a.k.a. Scrat, Dinki-Di, Trash Panda, Dug), and Mystique (a.k.a. Lady), and five cats - Burglekutt (a.k.a. Ghostmouse Makah), Vohnkar! (a.k.a. Storm Shadow, Grogu), Falkor (a.k.a. Moro, The Mummy's Kryptonite, Wendigo, BFC), Nibbler (a.k.a. Cobblepot), and Meegosh (a.k.a. Lenny). Part of the preface to the 'Complete Works of Emily Dickinson helps sum me up as a person and an artist: "The verses of Emily Dickinson belong emphatically to what Emerson long since called ‘the Poetry of the Portfolio,’ something produced absolutely without the thought of publication, and solely by way of expression of the writer's own mind. Such verse must inevitably forfeit whatever advantage lies in the discipline of public criticism and the enforced conformity to accepted ways. On the other hand, it may often gain something through the habit of freedom and unconventional utterance of daring thoughts. In the case of the present author, there was no choice in the matter; she must write thus, or not at all. A recluse by temperament and habit, literally spending years without settling her foot beyond the doorstep, and many more years during which her walks were strictly limited to her father's grounds, she habitually concealed her mind, like her person, from all but a few friends; and it was with great difficulty that she was persuaded to print during her lifetime, three or four poems. Yet she wrote verses in great abundance; and though brought curiosity indifferent to all conventional rules, had yet a rigorous literary standard of her own, and often altered a word many times to suit an ear which had its own tenacious fastidiousness." -Thomas Wentworth Higginson "Not bad... you say this is your first lesson?" "Yes, but my father was an *art collector*, so…"
