About The Artwork
This mixed media piece allows for one to partially see ones own face reflected in the painting. The skin of the woman in this painting is covered in metal spikes and she wears several pieces of representative jewelry. This piece has an overlay of AR animations of metal drops that fall over the image (QR code at the back, AR animation viewable via the free Adobe Aero app). Through these textures and animations I am seeking to examine the humanity of the figure, the vulnerability of the form juxtaposed with the sharp metal of objects.

I am a painter, graphic designer, co-founder of a rural Indian social enterprise working with weaving co-operatives. I thrive on interdisciplinary processes and let all the parts of my work and life experiences inform my mark-making. I am working on a series of paintings currently examining motherhood, postpartum, grief and body image. These paintings document the deeply personal through symbolic and surrealistic imagery.
