ABOUT THE ARTWORK

Painted with oil on wooden Gallery style Canvas. I wanted to portray serenity with this monochromatic painting. I used dark blue and silver to evoke feelings of calmness, stillness, and serenity. I chose the dandelion as they are flowers that can persevere through all of the difficult living conditions. Because of this, they are considered as symbols of survival and overcoming all of the difficult moments in life. The dandelion is a good reminder to start fresh occasionally and rid ourselves of past baggage. I chose to paint the dress and dandelions in silver because the color silver has a feminine energy; it is related to the moon and the ebb and flow of the tides - it is fluid, emotional, sensitive and mysterious. Silver can evoke feelings of reflection and inspire one to begin to heal physically and emotionally
