I play with colours, lines, ink, paper, shapes, wood, stone, to make my life - and hopefully yours, too- beautiful.
I approach many subjects in my work, considering everything around me inspirational, but everything I work has only one subject: LIFE and LOVE OF LIFE. That is a more recent conclusion!
My father was a painter so I was surrounded by art since birth. I have taken an interest in art since childhood, been very fond of drawing, painting and stone carving.
Until I was 19 I have oscillated between visual art, music, mathematics and economics. The pivotal moment was when I discovered etching/engraving techniques. Somehow, this was actually the starting point, the push button for a more dedicated life to the art field.
For me, painting, drawing, sculpturing or making improvisational music together with experimental movies, are just one big thing. Those are only techniques, expression media which allow me to express myself.
As I said, everything I produce is an expression of LOVE OF LIFE. My PH.D. thesis is called ““Biophylia – Another Kind of Living”. It is a theoretical approach of my body of work till 2013. It contains a deep analysis of my paintings, sculpture and graphics together with a comprehensive study of vitalism approach in the history of art since Middle Age until nowadays.
Painting is probably my main interest, because it contains, as a visual show, the most important ingredient: LIGHT, painted light, colour of light. Painting is for me the lab. Painting enables also my conclusions for other forms of expression.
