Klaas Hart Netherlands Klaas Hart is an artist who has, not only in his art but also in his professional life as a social worker and supervisor, a very whimsical and pure look to the "real world". Characteristic by his expression and his endless search for style and form, Klaas is absorbed with visualizing and sharing this carefree perspective for as long as he can remember. It is his mission and his lifework, as he said himself: ”I need to make art.” Born in Amsterdam, close to the red light district, the reality and pitfalls of urban life played a huge role in his personal development, helping to form his sense of self and purpose. Twice a week he works with the homeless and less fortunate, helping them to discover art as and outlet, and a means of self actualization. The last two years have been particularly good to him, as he has had the chance to work with a consistent group, getting to know them as individuals and artists, whilst watching them grow into their own talents and mediums. He himself finds inspiration by many different movements and styles such as graffiti, COBRA, sculpture, street-art and cartoons, presenting a raw view of the world with a dash of humor. In the past Klaas has created murals, custom wallets, book illustrations, and several sculptures (including "De aardige Amsterdammer" for the Regenboog Foundation). As well as having veritable library of canvass works and drawings, some of which have found their way in to galleries in Amsterdam, Berlin, and Milan, he has even received several awards for his work. Though experimentation is at the heart of his practice, he has spent the last few years focused on exploring the world of digital art, both as an independent medium and various manners of mixed media, bringing together classical and contemporary.
