'Table Mountain' is an abstract painting using sketching knives to apply heavy acrylic for the textured effect, I grew Up in Cape Town SA and Table Mountain was always so breathtaking to me, I've painted it a few different times in my life and its always one of my favourite subjects.

Her love for travel and nature play a huge roll in inspiring her work. Using acrylic and textured media to create depth and movement in her large abstract land/sea/sky scapes, Joy brings a sense of calmness, tranquility and intrigue into a lot of her artwork with her colour combinations and composition quoting “I love it when you can just stare at a painting for hours, I want people to feel moved by my art, it must create an emotion within.” - JH Joy takes influence and encouragement from abstract artists of the mid 20th century: Helen Frankenthalar, Jackson Pollock, Hans Hofmann, Juan Mirò, Gerhard Richter to name a few and thrives on the never ending creative journey.
