Joy is a self taught abstract artist who's passion for art started at an early age. Born in Germany to English and German parents, raised in South Africa and now based in London. Her love for travel and nature play a huge roll in inspiring her work. Using acrylic and textured media to create depth and movement in her large abstract land/sea/sky scapes, Joy brings a sense of calmness, tranquility and intrigue into a lot of her artwork with her colour combinations and composition quoting “I love it when you can just stare at a painting for hours, I want people to feel moved by my art, it must create an emotion within.” - JH Joy takes influence and encouragement from abstract artists of the mid 20th century: Helen Frankenthalar, Jackson Pollock, Hans Hofmann, Juan Mirò, Gerhard Richter to name a few and thrives on the never ending creative journey. 'I'm an adventurer at heart and I'm always experimenting with different media. I find exploring the artistic world so fulfilling. My dream of exhibiting and sharing my art around the would is slowly coming true.’ - JH
