Wild, violent storms are commonplace in the artist's home state of Oklahoma. She sought to capture such a storm with a limited color palette of grays, warm whites, silver, charcoal, and dark blues. With bold strokes, she applied the paint with intense emotion seeking to capture the tornadic cloud as it swiftly moved across the prairie.
