ABOUT THE ARTWORK

. According to various researches, the origin of the drum is African (Tanbou called in Haitian Creole), and it dates from prehistoric times. The drum arrives in Europe thanks to the migrations of Africans and Arabs in Europe. Later, the drum also arrives in the New World, when the armies of the conquerors begin the colonization of America. The enslaved Africans arrived in America and explored different sound possibilities, turning almost everything into a drum. This work is inspired by videos of Haitian music, especially the Azor, and as you know, this instrument is one of the motivations of the music and also the symbol and instrument of rhythm, the drum, which accompanies the joys as well as the sorrows, the work as well as the moments of relaxation of the Haitians, is, in Haiti, inseparable from the dance. I hope that the viewers will see further and also admire this painting and also like it I chose this medium because this painting style goes with this painting, so it is mixt painting acrilyc on canvas.
