Targa Florio - Ferrari 512 Print

Targa Florio is a small oil painting, which I have dedicated to my favourite historical race. In this particural painting we can see Nino Vacarella, the legendary Sicilian driver, behind the wheel of a Ferrari 512, blasting through the mountains over the city Cefalu. A lonely farmer on a donkey observes as the Ferrari stampedes around him in a seeming contrast of the old and rural with the modern racing machine. In this oil painting, I've captured a juxtaposition of eras. The classic racing machine, its lustrous red body reflecting its speed and power, stands poised against the timeless backdrop. Its realist style enhances the encounter between the valiant rider and the mechanical steed, evoking feelings of nostalgia and progress.
