ABOUT THE ARTWORK
As an Art Educator an important goal I had for young people was to find their voice and trust their thinking. The Arts have always been a place for children to use and expand their creativity. Sometimes the "powers that be" minimize the importance of promoting creativity. I chose a classical painting approach to the style of the piece. I put the subject matter in contrast (contemporary versus the past) to emphasize the theme.
