About The Artwork
I was inspired by the concept of absence and presence. we often visit different kinds of places and interact in different ways. What are those places like without the people and use of the place is changed. I wanted the work to show something like this. A place somewhat recognizable but not completely because it has been changed and not functional in the same way. I chose to paint this with acrylic paints because they are quick to dry yet very flexible and I felt it was suitable to my style. I like to paint over my layers and often the final work doesn't resemble the first look.
