About the Artist

Micki Mckdavis

I have always had some connection to art. I favored drawing over studies and was a poor student and a free spirit for many years, it wasnt until I was much older that I finally decided to settle down and get some formal training. Now, after receiving my MFA at Florida State University I am able to do what I love most which includes teaching drawing and painting. I enjoy figurative work so it is almost always the basis of my work. Next, I enjoy history, specifically art history but I dont always reference art history-sometimes its just my history, the third component is usually about women, our history, how did we got here, and where we have been and what we are doing about it.
