ABOUT THE ARTWORK

This painting is one in a series of works on canvas and paper based on woodlands that back on to my home. I am inspired by the energy and living spiritual connection I feel with nature in the character of the trees, the forest floor, and light. In these works I apply a process of painting in layers - acrylic, then oils, and finally oil pastels which creates an intense vibrancy. This work was partly inspired by the poems of Robert Frost, in particular "The Road Not Taken".
