Nir Vena holds MFA in Design of Children’s Environment from the National Academy of Arts in Sofia, Bulgaria. She has been exploring different media, most recently – paper. She has taken part in different solo and group exhibitions with her paper sculptures. One of the most recent ones was a joint project with Mihail Vakliov, an experiment to mix paper sculptures with photography. Nir Vena’s other passion – creating sculptures of Nylon, allows her to express her feelings about overconsumption. She came across that material when noticing the plastic bags stuck in the branches of trees waving in the wind and reminded her of wings. Creating beauty out of ugly and useless objects is also part of her artistic credo. Nir Vena creates angels from nylon; she plays with light and wind and keeps on experimenting with that fascinating manmade material. Nir Vena wants to show to her audience how important and endangered is our Nature. Her messages are in the form of flowers made of recycled plastic bags and exhibited where the real flowers should be – in Nature. Nir Vena has taken part in many mixed media performances, group exhibitions and solo exhibitions. 2014 – Winter tale exhibition in Gaya gallery, Sofia, Bulgaria 2013 – light installation, Location Center, Gabrovo, Bulgaria 2013 – installation for multi-disciplinary art-project X-Stream, St.
