ABOUT THE ARTWORK
This painting is part of a series I've called "The New Family". I began work on the series in the usual way: arranging elements of a still life in such a way that a character or scenario emerges. In these particular pictures, I noticed that a larger story was emerging -- something about a relationship, and a wedding, and a family. While I wouldn't impose a definite narrative on the work, (and besides, my own impressions are too vague to do such a thing in any case) I have titled the paintings to align with those notions.
