ABOUT THE ARTWORK
The Burren in County Clare is famous all over the world for its natural beauty and draws visitors from all parts each year. However the old agricultural traditions of farming remain the same where the cattle spend the winter grazing on high ground. An annual walking festival takes place where walkers accompany the farmers on the walk up into the high ground to leave the cattle until the following Spring. This is known as 'winterage'. This painting is completed on canvas textured paper 16"w x 12"h and the final framed piece is 20"w x 16 h.
