The Chaos Theory Print

Work created with a mixed technique: other colors and substances are mixed with the acrylics, such as the coffee that interprets itself, becoming a real actor of the scenario, sprinkled, impetuous: coloring is only its secondary function. The Lorenz attractor, symbol of chaos theory, is made with real twisted woolen filaments. The colors, affixed chaotically, vehemently to the work, want to overwhelm the ordinariness of the shades of brown, already distorted by the spilling of the coffee. Real coffee mixed with colors, which spreads in the image of the painting and, really, on the canvas. The roll of paper with its relief becomes, rather than an instrument of order, an observer and a concrete part of the instant, with its points that invite us to mathematical reflections. If the paper was not involved in the process, like a spreadsheet, the fuchsia color, on the other hand, would be its antithesis: yet flashes of that color gush free on the canvas, in the name of anarchy of spacetime. Lorenz's attractor is drawn on a book or a notebook: in the elegant chaos of existence, much has been written and still there is everything to write.
