I am a big fan of Van Gogh and his technique. I tried to put my impressionistic style and spin on a night time painting of New York City. Admittedly, not close to the talent of Van Gogh, but my humble feeling and impression of New York City. What strikes me is the beauty of all of the colors flow...

I started painting late in life, approximately six years ago, after I had a conversation with my nephew, who was attending college for an art degree at the time. Dennis Collins, my nephew, is a very talented artist and I am a fan of his. He was nice enough to pass on in one of our conversations that his favorite art professor used to say that any painting is good and that you shouldn't worry about the outcome. It is an expression of the individual doing that artwork. After that conversation, I figured what the heck, I will go for it. I recently retired after working for 41 years in corporate IT and Finance. Subsequently, I joined a talented art group SCAN (Society for Creative Arts of Newtown) last year and have been participating in weekly open studio sessions as well as weekly plein air sessions. I also have been taking multiple courses / sessions with local renowned artists to improve my craft. I have been told that the style I have developed can be somewhat whimsical, but entertaining and interesting at the same time. Thanks for visiting my site and hope you enjoy perusing my paintings.
