The Crimson Tower: Memories in the Sky Print

For someone like me, who has lived in the city since childhood, skyscrapers have always been the most common sight in my daily life. Although newer and taller buildings often replace the old ones, those that have stood tall since my youth remain irreplaceable in my memory. They form the image of the sky above as I remember it. I do not wish for my audience to become overly fixated on the landmark buildings themselves in my paintings. I intentionally omit the names of the buildings; I hope that the towering structures in my art become symbols that resonate with viewers, evoking memories of that indelible building in their own past, recalling their own piece of the sky. As a watercolor artist by profession, I am fond of this seemingly uncontrollable medium. It always creates surprising effects on paper. Although I am adept at painting in a realistic style, I prefer my canvases to reflect the blurred scenes from my memory. Like a dream, not quite real, yet not overly abstract.
