ABOUT THE ARTWORK

The crown prince is a painting illustrating a characters in the butterfly effect effect world, he is the playful one. About the collection: The collection includes a series of paintings, experimental compositions created directly on photosensitive paper, and an installation that includes a video art projection inspired by quotes from Alan Wilson Watts (1915 – 1973), who contributed greatly to opening the eyes of the West on other cultures and traditions. The artwork in the exhibition reflects on how small occurrences that escape our notice can determine large-scale effects which we cannot fail to see. The occurrences that change the world may be tiny things. A butterfly flapping its wings in the Amazonian jungle can affect the course of a tornado in the United States in the metaphor that the meteorologist and mathematician Edward Norton Lorenz used to illustrate his deterministic chaos theory. This is especially poignant at the time when the world is facing unprecedented ecological challenges and political and economic turmoil. Nobody is alone in this world, and no act is without consequences for others.
