About The Artwork
It was inspiring to grow up during the times of the Apollo missions. It felt very much, for those who watched excitedly, that in some way we'd also been up there with the astronauts. We were so connected to them, and mission control, in those moments. I remember the teacher wheeling out a big TV for us to watch the events on in the main hall. Now every classroom in that school has a large screen installed. In this painting I have put myself on the moon, in one of the dresses I've seen myself wearing in an old photo. I felt compelled to paint my Space series as a tribute to all those who took part in the space missions and of course to Buzz Aldrin (pictured), and all of us who watched and experienced it through TV screens.

I show regularly at Bankside Gallery which, the home of the Royal Society of Painter-Printmakers of which I am a member and fellow. My prints and watercolours have shown at the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition many times. I worked in making limited edition books for many years and these are held in both public and private collections, including the National Art Library, The Victoria and Albert Museum (V&A), Ashmolean Museum, Museum Van Het Boek, The Hague, Netherlands, British Library, St. Stephen Museum Hungary, U.C.L.A., Winchester University Library and others in the U.K., collections in Cincinnati, U.S.A., and Korea, Trinity College Dublin, Longleat House Library, Yale University Library and other collections; the work also having been shown at Tate Britain. I grew up in Hertfordshire and moved to London to study and have lived here ever since. My love of nature is reflected in my imagery.
