ABOUT THE ARTWORK

The Dream’ painting is an allegory for what I had to say about life that was ten years in the making. I often dream of art projects, working on them or completing them. Some of my ideas come to me in dreams, I keep a book by the side of my bed so I can record them or even sketch them out while they are still fresh in my mind. ‘The Dream’ was one such painting, which I started about ten years ago. In the dream there were many horses around me then they all came together on a canvas in front of me and I began to paint them. I then awoke from this dream and felt that this was something I needed to pay attention to."
