About The Artwork
I have been a long time avid fan of Terry Pratchett's Discworld books, specifically the ones based on the City Watch. Wanting to get the feel of the grizzled city watchman in my ink wash series I found as many references to the character as possible and put them into this piece. I wanted this to feel like one of those pieces you see of your great grandfather during his service. This was all executed with a Japanese ink stone, to do the ink wash, then highlighted in places with white gouache, and finally got a splash of metallic bronze watercolour in the background.
