ABOUT THE ARTWORK

Did you ever visit Dresden? What first springs to mind when you think of Dresden? The Frauenkirche? The Semperoper? The Dresden Zwinger? Or do you visualise a large chunk of chocolate? That too would be perfectly appropriate. Dresden was, after all, Germany’s first ‘capital city of chocolate’. In addition Dresden can still lay claim to its nickname of “Florence on the Elbe” (das Elbflorenz). Dresden or Meissen china (porcelain) is another thing that the city is famous for. The art of making porcelain began in Dresden, but the industry moved to nearby Meissen in 1710. I can look at Dresden's architecture for hours. The architecture is always different, touched by time and history. All these details, texture, chips, scuffs. This work here is a single copy of my unique and original handwork. It is made on special, high-quality 100% cotton paper designed for watercolor from the world’s best manufacturers and has a density of 300 grams / meter. NOTE: The colors shown on your screen and/or web viewing devices may vary slightly from the actual painting or print colors. The images in-home might not be to scale, and serve for illustration purposes only.

A full-time Ukrainian watercolor artist based in Braunschweig (Germany) since spring 2013. I was born and grew up in Poltava, Ukraine. I’ve dreamed to be a painter since my childhood and only after my 25th birthday I’ve started to paint. 6th November 2012 was the best day in my life – my first art class. Traveling and painting has been my big dream, which finally came true in 2013 when we moved from Poltava (Ukraine) to Braunschweig (Germany). I find inspiration in a beauty of nature, flowers and plants, in the beauty of the environment around – from ancient to modern architecture, cityscapes, minimalistic landscapes, and clouds, sunsets, endless sky. To know the materials better I have visited several factories of art materials producers - Hahnemühle (April 2018), Royal Talens (May 2018), Escoda (March 2019). Furthermore, I work and cooperate with world producers of art materials - Hahnemühle, Schmincke, Da Vinci, St. Cuthberts Mill, ShinHan, Royal Talens, Escoda, Rosa, Tombow. I am a member of German Watercolor Society since April 2018 and a member of International Watercolor Society in 2018/2019.
