ABOUT THE ARTWORK
The Fluid: A voluminous spheroid is crushing a vessel under its’ enormous weight. Fluid is flowing out of the vessel, whereas the spheroid itself is dribbled with fluid. These two different occurrences about fluids are manifested in the painting highlighting fluid’s natural tendency. On one hand, dribbling / dripping in painting allude to the style of ‘gestural abstractionism’ which emphasizes the physical act of painting and the result is left partly to a chance. On the other hand the deliberation involved in rendering a specific idea is implied through the carefully painted flowing water from the vessel. The execution distinctly shows these two different happenings.
