ABOUT THE ARTWORK

This painting was initially thought only as a study for a composition with more elements called: Tije (Goddess of Fortune). But then I realized that it had its own place in a collection where I add aphorisms to the bottom of the images.

Emilio is a versatile artist, also interested in music and psychology. His works belong to the symbolic and dream world, product of a deep introspection that has a lot of catharsis for the author. Long meditated works, in some cases, of fast execution, full of freshness, but full of atmosphere, using gouache to produce a delicate sfumato. They seem narrated for filmic language, by way of preparatory studies, flashes born of personal experiences, the fruit of his reveries, reflections ... In other cases, autobiographical works, meditations on himself, on the many and complex Emilios and his artist personality, Disquisitions about Art, about life ... All of them with a soundtrack, with an "encrypted" story and an invitation to unravel them. Conchi Álvarez (Stoa Gallery) Sújar's painting contains subjective approaches, sensations of dream expressionism that are identified in a wealth of images that reach the viewer who, on the other hand, Sújar allows to verify their own conclusions. Rafael Cortés (art critic). Good pulse in the drawing and agility of teacher in the distribution of color. In view we understand that Sújar is an excellent artist. His strokes are vigorous and expressive, all that it´s especially relevant on his portraits. Juan Latino (art critic). His characters are not soulless dolls. His deep, restless look, almost bordering on certain moments with the dementia, intends to take over all the pupils. Jesus González (art critic) Here is Emilio Sújar. And always the light so clean and so blue. But the light ceases to be a changing game to give permanence to the forms, intimacy and depth to the being of things. Carmen Diaz (Professor of Art History)
