The Fragrance Begins to Stir When Spring is Near Print

Poetry, calligraphy, painting, and seal carving are unique to Chinese painting, combining four excellent cultural forms into one. As the ancient saying goes, "There is painting in poetry, and poetry in painting." A good poem provides beautiful, picture-like imagery, while a good painting allows the viewer to appreciate a poetic atmosphere. This painting celebrates the approaching arrival of spring, which reminds me of a poem by the Song Dynasty poet Lu You. The inscription is taken from one line of this poem. 春近野梅香欲动，雨余沟水细无声。 Spring is near, and the fragrance of wild plum blossoms begins to stir; after the rain, the water in the ditches flows silently.
