ABOUT THE ARTWORK
On my daily walk up Paulin Boulevard I see many gardens, one more beautiful than the next! This particular day the light was so striking that I had to rush home to try and capture it with paint. I used a palette knife for the distinct strokes of color, and oil for the subtlety the scene required. I hope the viewer will see the light as I did. The impasto was needed to represent the many layers of paint I needed to adequately reflect the depth of the plants and the ground beneath them. The painting has a simple natural wood frame and is wired for hanging.
