About The Artwork

The picture depicts a completely real woman. I saw her on the news. In 2014, a war broke out in Ukraine. No one could believe this was really happening. I was no exception. Of course, I watched the newscasts trying to figure out what the hell was going on. One of the newscasts reported on maneuvers and troop movements. When the military maneuvers, they unsuccessfully lost some of the food. So, this elderly woman collects cereals scattered by the military. When I saw this, I sat as if struck by thunder. At that moment I realized how ugly the war is ... It was the point of awareness…

I paint because for me it's a kind of meditation in which I lose track of time, designing and creating a whole new world that no one has ever seen before. Portrait is the most congenial form of art to me. It is incredibly interesting to observe people and visualize their actions and behavior, transforming them into images that can be depicted on canvas. Portraits of women are my special love. Women are ambiguous, mysterious, magic lurks in them. It's a bottomless world, like the rabbit hole Alice fell into. My paintings are not about female beauty, they are about her inner world, which is inhabited not only by angels but also by demons Sometimes I paint landscapes and flowers It turns out easily. Probably, painting them, I just relax :-).
