The Hero of Kosovo, the Legendary Commander, Adem Jashari Print

Adem Jashari, the father of the KLA, the symbol of independence of Kosovo, beginning in 1991, fought against the Serbian forces for the secession of Kosovo from the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia (Serbia). After several unsuccessful attempts to capture or kill him, Serbian police launched a full-scale revenge attack against Jashari's home in Prekaz in March 1998, involving tanks, APCs and helicopters.They were backed up by artillery from a nearby ammunition factory. The battle that followed resulted in the deaths of 57 members of Jashari's family, including that of Jashari, his wife, brother and son.
