'The Lady in the Greens (Study)' is the lone wolf of my series 'Urban Jungle'. I do not usually do studies of the paintings I have in mind but I was in the mood to try it out. And as I got carried away in the process, I made what was supposed to be a rough sketch a finished painting. I turned out to be so happy with the result I decided that I couldn't do better in large scale and this study became a final painting. This picture shows the fragility and the strength of a woman hiding in the leaves with yet no shyness or fear in her. She looks at the viewer straight in the eye but chose to remain protected in the jungle, observing things from a distance. A little nod to all the introverts who are happy to see people as long as it is from afar. This 'Urban Jungle' series started in 2017 and is ongoing. It opens a dialogue between urban life and nature. Through it, I raise questions about the relationship between our kind and our surroundings, the imposed force or the complicity we have with nature in its general form. ~ TECHNICAL DETAILS Some parts of the painting have liquid metal paint which gives the drawing another dimension under different lightings (see other pictures). The artwork is sold as-is, signed, on paper, ready to be framed and ships rolled.

Best known for his cross-cultural approach, Oscar Lett stands out by his bold looking paintings prominently using black and contrasting metallic colours. Based in NYC, the Parisian artist loves to embrace the influences of the countries he lived in. After moving to London to study at Central Saint Martins, Oscar then moved to Kyoto as he sought teaching from the masters of Nihonga (traditional Japanese painting). Appropriating each culture and their aesthetics, O.L. developed a unique style depicting a world where opposites can coexist and where people overcome their struggles in impossible urban jungles. Working in large-scale and always craving bigger, Oscar naturally moved to New York in 2016 and made the street his new playground. Since then Lett has been developing a wide portfolio of murals in Europe and the U.S., allowing his fine art and street art practices to inspire one another.
