The Lights Light the Way Print

The idea of working with buoys came when investigating the world shipping routes and how these markers are used to illuminate the routes for large shipping containers, distributing essential and non-essential goods across the world. A whole language of lighting systems and various shaped buoys exist, resulting in a complex language of transportation via the sea. These works tie in with the lithographic pieces illustrating our sensory organs under microscopic conditions. These large sculpture like objects that light up the ocean, guiding these vessels that bring us objects of distraction, contributing towards inequalities in labour and how their existence in our lives potentially dilute our ability to assess reality and make significant positive changes in the world.
