About The Artwork

The Macallan Valerio Adami 1926, is the most expensive bottle of whisky ever to be sold. The bottle was sold at auction in Edinburgh, Scotland for more than $1,1 million. A nip from this rare bottle would cost $25,000. The whisky was distilled in 1926, matured in a sherry cask for 60 years, before being bottled in 1986. Macallan commissioned the famous pop artist Valerio Adami to design the label. Only 24 bottles were produced. but it’s not known how many still exist.

Ian Greathead is an oil painter who captures special moments in time shared over a glass of wine. In astonishing detail, he allows the viewer to experience the pleasure of rich wine, beautiful music and good company. He is especially interested in how the reflections of light on the glass can add to the story-telling within his compositions. His paintings have been purchased by collectors and wineries from around the world, with several pieces hanging in corporate collections in Napa Valley. He has also expanded his range to create scenes that are right at home on the walls of any man cave, with themes featuring liquor, sports, poker, classic cars and more. He has also worked with clients on private commissions creating unique one-of-a-kind paintings for birthdays or graduation gifts featuring favorite sport teams.
