The North Slope is one of a handful pieces of my early work that survived a fire destroying most of my early body of work. While it is beautiful to look at, it has an underlaying critical aspect to it that has been relevant and still is : oil drilling in pristine nature of Alaska. The Slope or also called The North Slope is a region in Alaska, Prudhoe Bay, that had been opened to oil drilling despite it's prestige nature and the many migrant animal species that are dependent on, protest against the drillings and devastating oil spills in the region. The North Slope was shown at an exhibition in 2006, that won me a National Travel Grant by the state of Baden-Wuerttemberg in Germany. The Art Piece can be also displayed and bought as a diptych, with the painting called "The Slope"

Coming from a long line of visual artists and graphic designers, as well as poets and Arts Teachers, I myself went working in pre-press design, graphic design and finally took a chance to study Fine Arts. I earned my Bachelor as well as my Masters of Fine Arts in Germany, at the renown State Academy for fine Arts in Karlsruhe. Where I worked with internationally well known artists like Franz Ackermann (who was my mentor when I was his Master Student) Antje Majevski, Andreas Slominski, Simone Wester Winter, Gerd van Dülmen and Horst Antes. While working as a professional artist in Loss Angeles, I also teach kids and teens Fine Arts Classes at my studio.
