Amanda Thompson

Amanda Thompson is a self taught abstract artist working with alcohol inks, acrylic and as a tile designer, based in Sydney, Australia. She uses vivid colours to tell her memories from her childhood growing up in Broome, Western Australia where she was always surrounded by luminous colours, the incredible reds in the pindan dirt, aqua oceans as far as the eyes could see, lushes greens of the mango trees and the shimmer and luster of pearls. She had a very outdoor upbringing and was surrounded by ocean, flora and space. Her art career happened by chance, a friend suggested she start a hobby so she picked up some supplies and started experimenting, she soon found that memories were flooding her mind and her vivid colour painting evolved. Amanda is currently exhibiting with The Watershed Gallery in the Hunter Valley NSW and with Julie Peadon Art Studio 71 in Drummoyne Sydney.
