ABOUT THE ARTWORK

This painting is about love. About strong and passionate love from which you lose your head. This metaphor is taken literally here. And this is surrealism. The picture is called a kiss. In fact of course there's no kissing here, people don't even have heads. But everyone can draw in their imagination exactly their ideal kiss. A kiss is like something sacred, hidden from our eyes. In this understatement in my opinion the main highlight of the picture. The bodies are depicted very realistically and naturally this creates an even greater contrast with the invisible imaginary kiss. This painting is in oil. This is my favorite medium. It is alive, malleable, flexible. I think it's perfect for depicting the human body.

I was born and raised in Russia, in the city of Khabarovsk. I began to paint in early childhood. At the age of 15, I graduated from art school, which, frankly, I did not really like to go to because of strict teachers and mandatory homework. In this regard, after its completion, I did not paint for a very long time. I took up the brush again only in 2017. I moved to Vietnam, immersed myself in painting with my head, experimented a lot, looked for myself and my style. The essence of my work is self-knowledge. Very often I paint myself to understand what is happening inside me, causing certain emotions and states. In my paintings, I am completely frank. I create an image that reflects what I feel, and then I embody it in a picture. It is important for me that, looking at my paintings, the viewer can feel the same thing that I felt.
