ABOUT THE ARTWORK

I was inspired by Tchaikovsky's "Swan Lake" classic music and ballet work. In 'Swan Lake', Odette is cursed by the demon Rotvart to live as a swan during the day and a human in the evening. Then one day, Prince Siegfried meets Odette, who has turned into a human, and the two fall in love. However, in the second half of the play, Prince Siegfried swears love to Odil, the daughter of the devil, mistaken for Odette for the devil Rotvart's succession. Odette, who was able to dispel the curse of turning from human to swan through true love, becomes desperate with a sense of betrayal, and ends up throwing himself into the lake and killing himself. In this work, Odette was in despair and performed the final dance just before throwing himself into the lake. Although it was the devil's tactics, a woman felt betrayed by a man she loved fiercely, along with despair and fear of eventually losing human nature and living as a swan forever... “In despair and fear, she decided to die, but tragically, her last dance is so beautiful." I tried to capture the lines of emotion that are difficult to express with these words in Odette's gestures, colors, and the background of his work. *Personally, I recommend listening to Tchaikovsky's "Swan Lake" classic music. As the music gradually peaks, you can feel the feeling of'despair and beauty' at the same time.
