ABOUT THE ARTWORK
This is a piece out of my still life series. It is painted in the style of the ‘old masters’ meaning it has a classy distinguished look. This is done with some special techniques, including different layers of paint, finished of with a layer of glaze paint. The subject of an onion may not be a common one, but is perfect for an artist to put his passion in, as i have found out. Not in the least because of the many subtle colors in the subject, but also all the different shapes coming together in one. This painting will stand out in every room you can think of, tanks to its classy and timeless look. The painting is done with oil paint on a cardboard plate stretched with canvas. These mediums let all the colors be put on, and manipulated to the extend that all the subtle color shifts come together.
