This geometric abstract painting was made in 2020 and is called ‘The sweetest taboo’ in reference to a great song from ‘Sade’. It was realized from the drawing on a folder made in 1998 and called 'Can’t take my eyes off you' in reference to a great song from 'Gloria Gaynor'. It has blue and grey colors and contains a multitude of symmetrical and asymmetrical triangular structures and compositions, hence the term 'Triangle Art' which he uses when he speaks about this geometric form that he praises. Large-sized triangle structures and compositions were used in this painting. Analyzing these complex architectural compositions requires time, patience, and effort to discover their full richness. In this, they are an invitation to an emotional journey giving the opportunity to the observer to achieve a state of relaxation and inner peace, as is the case when the artist paints. These works are a representation of his personality which is composed of a duality of ambivalent concepts that he tries to make coexist in harmony: Spontaneity and planning; Consciousness and unconsciousness; Simplicity and complexity; Distance and Proximity; Monotony and Diversity ... They also generate a reflection on our own complexity and on the quality of our relationship with others. This painting is also made from an Art concept that he invented called 'Evolution Art' and that he develops to express conceptual ideas and access to a new art vision. Before realizing their final work, artists sometimes make sketches beforehand. It also happens sometimes that they reproduce their work with slight modifications. Gregory Dubus does none of this because his goal is to completely modify the work done previously by keeping only a few main structures. Thus, the work is totally metamorphosed and becomes a new work in its own right that he can use again to follow the same principle. It is a transformation that can be endless, and it leads to a reflection on the notions of sketch, original work and copy since they coexist together until they can no longer be differentiated. The evolution of the work takes place through this gradual passage from one state to another, hence the concept of ‘Evolution Art’ which he invented and develops to describe this new vision of art. Thanks to the unique method he uses, each work acquires parenthood and can thus be integrated into an artistic family tree. Gregory Dubus is a French artist living in the Netherlands whose artworks are displaying originality, uniqueness, remarkable aesthetic and higher technical and creative standard. Every work produced retains its uniqueness, just like the momentum that dictates the course that the work will take at the beginning of its conception. Hypnotic, these plastic productions take in some points the form of an automatic writing that the artist lets instinctively unfold under our eyes. Then, stands a topography, like a collection of geometric shapes which would join the codification attempts, colour-form correspondences and letters of the abstract painter Auguste Herbin and his attempts to transcend pictorial forms.
