The wave of life Print

Water has always played a huge part in not only my life but in my art as well… This painting represents life. With imagination you can travel through it, through its layers, through the layers of life. Water – in its simplest form is the fuel of life, the earth, all the animals and of course humans. By looking at the painting you can imagine the fish and other sea animals swimming in it, deep in the water but still each of them leading a life. You can imagine sailors in a far distance struggling against the waves, tremendous waves, but the very sailors have fair days as well, with tranquil and clear water as if forming a mirror underneath the ship. That indeed represents life. In the painting you can feel alive, just by feeling the wonderful water near you, listening to the healing sound of the sea, smelling the salty water, looking at the sky, breathing the air, the fresh air, feeling the sand beneath your feet and at the same time feeling the proximity of the wave. You can feel how the water softly heals your soul… The sea is wavy but maybe tomorrow it won’t be, who knows. That’s what life is, full of mysteries, quite beautiful mysteries. The same happens for water, one can never know what the seas and the oceans of this world conceal in them… Some days may seem quite tough and even unbearable, but we must remember that everything has its reasons and maybe every hard day is the beginning of a good day. The wave has its dark and light sides, has its visible and nonvisible parts. The light part, through which you can see the miraculous sunlight, can give you feelings of happiness, positivity and freedom. Whereas the dark side covers some kind of mystery, you can’t see what’s in there, you feel afraid yet the curiosity wants you to dive in the water and explore. At the same time the dark side can make you feel insecure, vulnerable and afraid of the unknown. You can never know what can be under the nonvisible part where the wave is on the point of hitting the ground. That’s what life is, full of happy and sad moments, struggles and achievements. That’s what the sea or the ocean is, full of wavy and tranquil states, some places are light, transparent and visible, while the others are dark, mysterious and unknown. By looking at the distance, farther away you can see the horizon, that’s the future. You can’t see what’s happening behind the horizon but you’re sure that there is something there, there are new opportunities, new places to visit, simply there is life.
