I painted this from a photo I took while on vacation in Iceland. It is a view in the Thingvellir National Park. It is thick impasto, I used a palette knife for the entire painting. It's absolutely one of my favorite paintings.

I am a native New Yorker who has resided in the Boston area for almost thirty years and employed as a chemical engineer. I’ve always had an interest in art, but came to painting over the past ten years, and with more focus over the past three years. I paint mainly in oil, but in acrylic and watercolor too. Inspiration comes from many things and places, in particular walking and biking in Boston, travels, observing people, and nature. Artists that have inspired me include the Impressionists but many contemporary painters as well. While landscape paintings are my preference, I enjoy painting cityscapes, seascapes, and still life too. I have had two paintings exhibited, the first in Boston's Copley Society of Art's 2023 National Show, and the other in the Small Stones Festival in Grafton, MA in 2024.
