Inspired by the incredible talent of Joan Mitchell. In this artwork my aim was to combine bold brushstrokes and a striking color palette to convey a range of emotions and energy. The woman depicted in the painting is a whirlwind of emotions and thoughts, as seen through the abstract and unconventional composition. Her figure is suggested through swirling lines and gestural marks that create a sense of movement and liveliness. I have intentionally left her features undefined, allowing the viewer to project their own interpretations onto her. The colours I’ve used in this artwork are rich and intense, expressing the woman's complex and multifaceted personality. Varying shades of blues, greens, and warm yellows come together in a beautiful harmony, representing her ever-changing moods and experiences. The strokes of paint overlap and blend, adding depth and texture to the composition. I believe Joan Mitchell's influence can clearly be seen in the expressive marks and colours, and with each brushstroke I have endeavoured to infuse my own emotions into the work.
