Melina Cohen Rubin Through her work shows her incessant search for meaning by exploring the deepest layers of the SELF, as well as the human beings interpersonal connections. From her diverse experiences, having from an early age navigated between new geographic spaces to feel at home, the artist materializes, with the use of colors that are sometimes vibrant and contrasting, sometimes sober and delicate, her need to reflect what is beautiful and endowed with connection with the ethereal. She combines the knowledge acquired in other artistic areas such as cinema, dance, theater and fashion, transforming all of this into material that fuels the creation of her paintings. She considers herself a self-taught artist; empirical. Lived in Florence, Italy. She participated in fairs and exhibitions in Portugal, Spain and Monaco. She is currently represented by the Monat gallery in Madrid and the Cnap Art Gallery in Lisbon. Melina was born in 1985, in Brazil, and lives between Portugal and Brazil.
