About The Artwork

This is the projection of the chaotic nature of thoughts in the human mind. Here I explore the various 'tendencies' of thoughts, their characteristics, their peculiar identities through the medium of fabric. Some places are hand-embroidered while at some, pieces of fabric are pasted creating a vibrant collage, with a sort of randomness in the composition of the abstract pieces. Here, subconsciously I have used my instinctual tendency of creating faces out of abstract shapes; thereby giving a persona to the individual ‘thought-fabric’.

Born on March 12, 1998. I am a Visual Artist living and working in Mumbai, India. I completed my Bachelor of Fine Arts in Painting from Sir J. J. School of Art, Mumbai. After that, I worked for a year or so as a Jr. Executive in the Art Restoration department at an auction house based in Mumbai. Since then I have been exploring further analogous disciplines like Psychology, Cognitive Science, and Philosophy and currently, my new fascination is the Ancient Indian Knowledge Traditions to gain a deeper insight into the nature of human consciousness and confinements of our reality. I create Art as a way to journalize my sense of reality and the present moment. Since a young age, I have been intrigued by people’s personalities, behaviour and how they perceive things around them. I love painting portraits as well. My media use ranges from paper maché using recycled paper pulp, fibre, embroidery, collage, traditional watercolour, pastels, oils and acrylics, to digital illustration. Some of my undergraduate works were exhibited in a group show ‘Habitat’ curated by the famous Indian art curator Sonal Motla, at Hirji Jehangir Gallery, Jehangir Art Gallery in Kala Ghoda Art Festival, 2020 in Mumbai. One of my initial works was featured in an online activity feature, ‘Mirror Image’ by the Jehangir Nicholson Art Foundation, Mumbai for 'Akbar Padamsee: A Tribute' exhibition, on 18 May 2020 on the account of International Museum Day on their website - http://jnaf.org/event/mirror-image/ I have been featured with my digital works under the pseudonym 'Kshatakshataksh' on a digital platform/database called Homeostasis Lab, among many other emerging artists around the world.
