ABOUT THE ARTWORK
The Three Graces have been painted and sculpted in a long stream of creativity that goes back to Ancient Mesopotania. They were created by the Greeks and Romans. They were depicted in the 1700's,1800's and up to present time. They represent beauty, charm, creativity and other excellent attributes. They are enduring inspiration to artists of every era. They enrich our life with their representation of our deep longing for ideals. I have done a long series of The Three Graces, creating the images in paint and digital creations. My goal was to create pictures of the same enticing subject in many different styles. I call the style of this representation "painterly" because the brush strokes are visible. The hand of the artist is sensed in the texture and pattern. I hope that you feel uplifted by this picture. I think that living with this image would bring joy to your life.

I live in the deep country of Washington Parish Louisiana where I have a beautiful studio. Our property is on a creek and we have some land on a hill. Nature is a jungle jumble here, sooo beautiful. It satisfies my deep need to commune with Mother Earth. As a child I grew up as an Air Force brat, moving about and experiencing diverse cultures. " I've been everywhere, Man." (Willie Nelson) "Daddy always kept moving so she did too." (Neil Young) North, south, east and west. Paris, Japan, Canada, Mexico, Central America. Where ever I have been I have savored the various local arts. When I was six years old the Air Force moved us to Japan. You might call it culture shock, my young mind expanded when I experienced art and culture so different from the USA. I paint or photoshop almost everyday and have done so for many decades. Nature and creating art are necessary for my peace of mind. Art is a path to explore my own mind and to connect with others on a deep level. I follow my muse, choosing from a multitude of different byways that beacon to me. Maybe you will see where my imagination flows. Maybe our minds will meet. I garden organic veggies and flowers. This is creative and at my age I need the motivation of gardening exercise to keep my joints oiled. I am married to a wonderful man, I am a Mom and Grandmother, and Great Aunt. We have loving get togethers for holidays.
