ABOUT THE ARTWORK

Painted from life from flowers arranged by the artist. Features three golden yellow sunflowers with dark centers, arranged on a bed of red dahlias in shades of bright red, burgundy red, pink, and orange. At the top of the canvas, the flowers are accented by burgundy red berries and pincushion flowers. The canvas also contains accents of flowering kale and dahlia leaves and buds. This painting was created with both palette knife and brush. The shapes of the flower petals are enhanced by the thickly applied paint. The background is created with textured brushstrokes in shades of pale blue, lavender, and red. The painting continues onto the sides of the 1" thick canvas so that it is ready to hang, or it may be framed if desired. A stunning piece, uplifting and energizing for the home or workspace.
