Born in Hull, England in 1977 and currently living in the East Riding of Yorkshire. I Graduated from doodling on school books and defacing newspapers to drawing caricatures of classmates. During my time at school my friends and I always had a healthy rivalry to create the most ridiculous caricatures of people we knew, all of my friends were very talented at art, but most were gravitated towards graffiti and street art. Throughout my life I have often found myself sketching out landscapes, caricatures and people armed with nothing more than a black biro and refill pad meant for college or university work. I am partial to the works of Jackson Pollock, which I found through the early work of the the band The Stone Roses, and in particular John Squire's art work for the band. Andy Warhol and Pop art is another favourite. I like art which can stop and absorb me, stop my overactive mind, art which I just want to look at every detail real or imagined. I like abstract and impressionist art, simple block colours or and expanse of gaseous colour disguised as landscape I took a while to finally have the nerve to take on, 'oil on canvas' but finally I did with the help of Bob Ross, due to having no formal training. Oil on canvas has always attracted me because of the visual nature of it for want of a better explanation, the further you are from it the more detail see, I have found it the most frustrating and freeing experience (in all ways possible) that one could ever take on. The ultimate goal would be and kind of abstract expressionism, the need or urge to create overwhelms everything I find creating any kind of art full filling, for me art is the ultimate reflection of self, mood and feeling, past and present, the pallette used, the lack of colour or colour choice.
